We had so much fun on our Field Trip on Friday! Ask your child what they learned from watching the movie, "Born in China"!
Biography Projects!
Thank you SO much for all of your help and support with our biography projects! It has been so wonderful to hear students share their enthusiasm and excitement for this activity! Biography projects are due tomorrow, Monday, May 1st! I look forward to beginning presentations this week! If your child is going to be wearing a costume for their presentation, they are more than welcome to bring their costume into school tomorrow and leave it in our classroom until it is their turn to present! If it is easier for your child to bring in or wear their costume on the day of their presentation, I will send home a letter with your child letting you know what specific day they will be presenting! Please let me know if you have any questions! :)
Literacy
This week in Literacy we will be reading the story, The Signmaker’s Assistant by Tedd Arnold. Through reading this story we will continue to discuss the unit question, “What does it mean to be responsible?” We will also explore the weekly question, “What happens when we do the wrong thing?” This week we will also learn about the genre of Humorous Fiction, read and spell words with vowels aw, au, augh, and al, and review the comprehension skill of identifying realism and fantasy.
Math
In math this week we will continue to learn about measurement by exploring the standard units of inches, centimeters, feet, yards and meters!
