Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone is having a great weekend! The next two weeks are sure to be busy and fun in Room 118 with the holiday season in full swing! I look forward to the wonderful weeks ahead! :)

💻 On Tuesday we enjoyed a fantastic Webinar presentation with author Jacqueline Woodson! Ask your child about her book, Each Kindness and what very important lesson it can teach us all! 

Holiday Celebration! ❄
To celebrate the holiday season, we will be having a game/craft celebration on the morning of December 21st! The Room Parents and I are looking for a few sets of helping hands and someone who might be able to come in and provide a game/craft. If you are interested and available please let me know! We'd love to have you!

Literacy 📚
In Literacy we will be starting our third unit of stories which focus around the essential question, “What does it mean to be creative?” This week we will be reading the story, Pearl and Wagner: Two Good Friends by Kate McMullan. Through reading this story we will be discussing the weekly question, “How do inventors turn ideas into inventions?” We will also be discussing the genre of Animal Fantasy, applying the long e sound to letters e, ee, ea and y while reading, identifying author’s purpose and determining the story structure of a text. Math ✏
In math this week we will continue to practice applying mental subtraction strategies! We will also focus on the 10's fact family!

On Wednesday, we participated in the Hour of Code to celebrate code week! The children were SO engaged and interested! Code games can be found on the website, www.code.org for students who would like to code more at home! 💻

During our visit with Mrs. Tilton this week, we focused on the yellow zone of regulation. Ask your child about all of the zones of regulation to see what they have learned!
