What a wonderful 4 day week we had in Room 118! Thank you to our Digital Learning Coach, Mrs. Carroll for helping us to upload our very first activity onto the Seesaw website! Be on the lookout for an email invitation to this site from me soon! 💻

Homework ✏

On Monday your child will be coming home with a letter that explains the homework policy in our classroom as well as with games and materials that can be kept at home to practice math! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have about homework in Room 118 as it might be a bit different than the homework routine your child experienced last year! I welcome any feedback that you may have! Thank you so much! 😊

This week we played the game, "What's Changed?" during Morning meeting!

If possible, please help your child choose a shirt to send in for a project we will be working on for Open House! Long sleeved shirts work best! All shirts will be returned unharmed after Open House is over! Thanks for your help!

This week we read, Dream Big a story about Michael Jordan and his journey to becoming one of the best basketball players of all time! After reading this book, we learned about other famous people who overcame obstacles in their journey towards success! We then brainstormed our own hopes and dreams for second grade! Ask your child what their goals are for this school year and what they need to do to make those dreams come true! #ifyoucandreamityoucandoit!

As a part of our Dream Big lesson, we watched an inspiring video about Tom Brady and the effort he puts forth to be the greatest of all time! #provethemwrong 🏈

Ask your child to tell you about the book, We Don't Eat Our Classmates to see what they learned this week about being a good friend! 👍

On Friday, our class participated in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Tallest Cup Tower Challenge! We had so much fun building and experimenting! This was also a great opportunity for us to work together and get to know each other! Great work everybody! :) #teamworkmakesthedreamwork!

There's nothing like a nice, relaxing Quiet Time on the beach! 🌊

Math ✏

This week in math we will be reviewing all of the addition and subtraction concepts that were presented in Topic 1 of our math program! We will then begin Topic 2, which focuses on addition strategies!
