January 17, 2020

I hope that everyone had a wonderful week! It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the month of January! I couldn’t be more proud of the effort and hard work each student continues to put forth every day in our classroom! I look forward to another week of learning fun in Room 118 next week! Have a fantastic weekend! 😊

Our Classroom Store 💰
The children have been working SO hard to earn their daily pennies by putting forth their best effort, making great choices and displaying expected behavior! Students will be able to spend the money they've earned at a classroom store coming soon! We are looking for any donations of small games, toys or prizes that we could "sell" at our classroom store. Items don't need to be new! Thank you so much for considering!

Social Studies 🌎
This week in Social Studies we began to talk about the very important life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. We watched a BrainPOP video on Dr. King and even viewed a portion of his, "I Have a Dream Speech". Next week we will continue to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr. through read alouds and discussions!

We continue to work on "How-To" writing in Writer's Workshop! ✏

This week during our guidance lesson, Mrs. Tilton taught us how to use different calming tools. These tools will soon be available for use in our very own "Calming Corner"! Ask your child what a Calming Corner is to learn more about this exciting, new space in our classroom!

Happy Birthday, Hiba! 🎂

Biff was SO excited to make another home visit this weekend! We can't wait to hear about all the fun that he had! 🐶
