Our Class Play Family/Friends Performance 🖍
For those who are able to attend, our class will be hosting a very special "Friends and Family" performance of our class play, "The Day the Crayons Quit" this Friday, April 13th from 9:15AM-9:30AM in the Boyden School cafeteria! I apologize that our music concert and our class play are in the same week! Our music concerts are a bit earlier this year! I will post a video of our class play to the blog for all of those who are unable to attend!

Class Store
The children continue to work SO hard to make wonderful choices and to earn their daily pennies! I'm hoping to reward all of their hard work and effort with a class store right after vacation! Any donations of small trinkets or toys would be so greatly appreciated! They don't need to be new! Thank you so much for considering! :)

Spelling City Link

This week our spelling words revolve around the prefixes un-, re-, pre, and dis-. Students can practice their spelling words through the Spelling City website by clicking here.

Literacy

This week in Literacy we will be reading the story, One Dark Night by Hazel Hutchins. Through reading this story we will continue to answer the unit question, “What does it mean to be responsible?” We will also address the weekly question, “Why should we take care of animals?” This week in literacy we will also be reviewing the genre of Realistic Fiction, reading words with prefixes un-, re-, pre- and dis-, applying the comprehension strategy of context clues, sequencing the events of a story and using graphic organizers to organize our ideas while reading and writing.

This week we made "vocabulary trains" to practice our new vocabulary words!

This week we practiced writing answers in complete sentences and used the game Silly Socks to help us! Ask your child about this favorite class game!

Working hard in math!

This week in grammar, we learned all about pronouns!

This past week we read a Realistic Fiction story about firefighters! Please watch the video below for a few important reminders! 🚒
