⭐Hi there! Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone is having a great weekend! I can't believe it's our final full week of second grade! Time truly does fly when you are having fun! This week Student Council is sponsoring Spirit Week! Please see the list below for more information! I can't wait to continue to make wonderful memories during our last 8 school days together! π⭐
☪ Own your dreams! π
π 2018 Spirit Week! π£
- Monday - "Walpole/Boyden Day" Wear your Walpole gear, Boyden Fun Run shirts or Blue/Orange to represent our school/town.
- Tuesday - "Luau Day" Wear your sunglasses, flowered shirts, lay necklaces, etc. to get ready for summer (please no bathing suits).
- Wednesday- Board Game Day" Do you love the game of Life, the suspense of Clue or the intensity of Parcheesi? Bring one of those in or another favorite game to play with your classmates.
- Thursday - "Flag Day" Wear red, white and blue to celebrate our flag. "
- Friday- Rhythm Room will visit Boyden. Rhythm Room is a group that explores the world of music as it relates to today’s pop culture, combining discussion, demonstration, and participation. The use of percussion, drum sets, buckets and one’s own body (clapping, stomping, etc.) is educational, motivational and fun. Each grade will participate in workshops followed by a whole school assembly.

Thank you SO very much for the incredibly kind and thoughtful end of the year class gifts! The beautiful beach bag and fabulous beach towel for Leo and the wonderful sunscreen will get so much use this summer on our many beach trips! You know me so well! ✏Math
This week in math we will continue to practice the skills presented in our 17th topic of study which focus around measurement!
Literacy
This week in Literacy we will be reading our final piece of the year, Cowboys by Lucille Recht Penner. Through reading this piece we will discuss the weekly question, “Why should we learn about cowboys?” This week we will also be reviewing the genre of Narrative Nonfiction and will be reading and spelling words with suffixes -ness and -less. We will use graphic organizers to demonstrate our understandings of what we read as well as explore the comprehension skill of cause and effect.
