Room 114's Classroom Blog! : September 30, 2018

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is October already! Time sure is flying! The children have done a fabulous job over the last month settling into second grade procedures and expectations! I couldn't be more proud of the effort and enthusiasm that they put forth each day! I look forward to another wonderful week of learning fun in Room 118!

Literacy ✏
This week we will not be learning a new phonics rule and will not be taking a spelling test on Friday. Instead we will be starting our grammar and writing curriculum! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!

⭐ Open House ⭐
It was so nice to see and meet everyone last Tuesday night at Open House! The children have been working so hard, and they were so excited to show you just what they have been up to! Thank you so much for visiting our classroom! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

We had a wonderful visit with our new Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Tilton last week!

We continue to find and read "Just Right Books"! 👍

On Wednesday we had a visit from our Technology Specialist, Mrs. Carroll! Mrs. Carroll taught us the important rules of internet safety! 💻

Math

This week in math we will begin Topic 2 in our curriculum which focuses on addition strategies! We will be adding with 0, 1, 2, doubles, near doubles and adding in any order!
