Room 118 is Celebrating! 🎉
Last week we started a whole class behavior management system to reinforce our classroom procedures and behavior expectations. Our goal was to fill up two ten-frames with counters! I am so thrilled to share that on Friday we earned our last counter and filled up our two ten frames! This week we will brainstorm and vote on a fun activity that we would like to do in the classroom to celebrate all of our hard work! I couldn't be more proud of the wonderful choices that the students continue to make in our classroom everyday! Keep up the fabulous job! 🙂

We had so much fun this week in science learning more about the power of water! Ask your child to tell you why there is sand at the beach and how canyons are formed to see what they learned from our two science experiments this week! 🌊
This week in math we will finish our short unit on working with equal groups by exploring and building arrays and computing number sentences that use repeated addition! We will continue to learn about the 7's fact family this week!

In Literacy we will be starting our second unit of study, which focuses around the essential question, “How can we work together?” This week we will be reading the story, Tara and Tiree by Andrew Clements and discussing the weekly question, “What can we do in a dangerous situation?” We will also discuss the genre of Narrative Nonfiction, practice reading words with r-Controlled ar, or, ore, review the comprehension skill of sequencing and apply the comprehension strategy of predicting.
