May 7, 2023

It was a busy week in Room 114! We continued to make great progress in our Writer's Workshop, FUNdations, math, Reader's Workshop and science units and ended the week with a field trip to the Hanover Theater! I hope all of my Room 114 friends are having a wonderful weekend! 😊

Happy Birthday to Jonathan, who celebrated his school birthday on Tuesday! 🎈

For the last few weeks we've been so lucky to have Miss Falzone, a student from Walpole High School (and a former student of mine) volunteer in our classroom! This week Miss Falzone helped us practice reading "magic e" words using a fun game on the TouchView!

In science last week we started our unit on plants! We learned all about the parts of a plant and the life cycle of a plant! On Wednesday, thanks to the help of Mrs. Moses, we planted seeds of our very own! We are so excited to watch our plants grow and see the plant life cycle first hand! 💮

In math last week we learned all about Rockhopper and Little Blue penguins! We used what we learned to compare our height to theirs! We also created our own Penguin Pairs graph to help us practice counting by 2's!

On Friday we took a trip to the Hanover Theater to see a play based on the popular "Pout Pout Fish" books! It was a blast! 🐟
