It was SO great returning to Room 114 this past week! We jumped right back into our routine seamlessly! I look forward to another wonderful week of learning and fun in first grade! 😀
Last week we invited some older students to come to our classroom to help us with ST Math! Some of our puzzles are getting very challenging! We LOVED working with our ST Math helpers and can't wait to make their visits a daily routine during arrival time! 👍
Last week in science we wrapped up our unit on animals! We answered the question, "Why do family members look alike?" to learn about inheritance and variation of traits and the question, "Why are polar bears white?" to learn about camouflage and animal survival. See pictures and a video of our explorations below! 👇
In Morning Meeting we continue to develop and practice social skills! One way we do this in Room 114 is through a "Mix and Mingle" greeting! Students are taught how to kindly approach each other and how to politely start and sustain a conversation! The video below shows a "Mix and Mingle" greeting in
action!👋
