I hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am beyond grateful to be a part of a community that is so kind, thoughtful and supportive! Thank you so much for all that you do! I look forward to seeing all of my Room 114 friends tomorrow for another wonderful week of learning and fun! 😊
❤ Gratitude Jars ❤
Last week we read the book, Thank You, Omu! written and illustrated by Oge Mora. This story is about Omu who shares her delicious stew with everyone in her neighborhood. Before she knows it, her pot is empty and her generosity means she had no stew left for herself. In the end, the community and people she shared with come back to her apartment to show their gratitude by sharing their food with her!
The story Thank You, Omu! inspired us to think about generosity and what we are grateful for in our own lives. In our classroom, we created our own gratitude jars. Students filled their jars with the things they are most thankful for! Last week the jar came home with your child. I hope that your child will continue to add to the jar and will find ways to celebrate all the special things and people in their life!
We continue to work SO hard in Math Workshop to practice and apply the skills and concepts that we are learning in our mini lessons! Way to go mathematicians! Keep up the amazing work! 👍
We learned ways to show that we are thankful in our latest Scholastic News article!
