November 22, 2015

It’s hard to believe that we will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday this week! Time is really flying by! The children have been working so hard! I am so proud of all they have accomplished in just a few short months. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with your amazing children each and every day! Room 118 is truly a special place to learn, work, and grow. I hope you enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving!

A Busy Week!
This week we erupted our volcanoes and celebrated Tie Day! Please enjoy pictures from these two very special activities below! :)

Homework
Due to the short week I will not be assigning a homework packet! For students who are interested, the “Enrichment Activity” page on our classroom website provides optional supplemental activities that children may complete in lieu of an official homework packet!

Literacy
Due to the short week, I will not be starting a new story with the children. Rather, we will take this week to review many of the important literacy concepts we have been learning about in the second unit of stories.

Social Studies
This week in Social Studies we will be discussing the very important holiday of Thanksgiving and will be reflecting on the many things we have to be thankful for!

Math
In math this week we will continue to learn about mental addition strategies!

Star Student
Congratulations to Nora who was our Star Student last week! We loved learning more about Nora from her All About Me poster and from the pictures that she brought in from home! Keep up the amazing work Nor! :)
