Our Class Play!
I have been so impressed with the hard work that so many students are applying to our class play! This week in school we will continue to rehearse the play with movements and transitions! I am so excited! Keep up the fabulous work! While families are unfortunately not able to attend our assembly performance due to a lack of space in the cafetorium, we will be having a very special “Framily” (Friends and Family) performance on Thursday, May 26th at 8:50AM in the cafetorium! We hope to see you then!

Field Trip
Last week a permission slip was sent home with your child for our field trip to the IMAX Theater in June! Please return the permission slip to ensure that your child will be able to participate! If you have any concerns about the cost of the trip please do not hesitate to contact me!

Biography Projects!
Thank you SO much for all of your help and support with our biography projects! It was so wonderful to hear students share their enthusiasm and excitement for this activity! Students did a fantastic job of presenting their projects and all that they learned through their research! I am so proud of the effort and creativity put forth! Thank you so much for all of your help! Please enjoy pictures from each child's presentation below!

Literacy
In Literacy we will be starting our sixth unit of stories, which will focus around the essential question, “How are traditions and celebrations important to our lives?” This week we will be reading the story, Just Like Josh Gibson by Angela Johnson. Through reading this story we will discuss the weekly question, “Why are sports important to our country?” This week we will also be reviewing the genre of Realistic Fiction and contractions. We will apply context clues while reading as well as explore the comprehension skills of comparing and contrasting and visualizing.

Math
This week in math we will finish Topic 14 in our curriculum by estimating sums and differences and applying the try, check, revise strategy to solve word problems with a money theme! We will then start Topic 15 which focuses on measurement! This week we will be exploring length in both inches and centimeters!

Science
Last week in science we finished our unit on plants! The children did a fabulous job completing the culminating project shown below which summarized all that they learned!

Mystery Reader!
Thank you so much to Mrs. Aslakson and Miss Verbic's mom, Mrs. Verbic for being Mystery Readers in our classroom this week! We had so much fun! :)
