2nd Grade Concert!
It was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces in the audience last Thursday night for the second grade spring concert! It was fantastic to see all of the things the students have been learning about all year in music class! Please enjoy pictures of this very special night below!
Biography Projects!
Thank you SO much for all of your help and support with our biography projects! It has been so wonderful to hear students share their enthusiasm and excitement for this activity! I look forward to beginning presentations this week! :)
Literacy
This week in literacy we will not be starting a new story but rather will be reviewing the concepts, skills and strategies that we have learned throughout unit 5 in our literacy curriculum! This means that we will not be learning a new phonics rule and will not have a spelling test on Friday! We will begin our sixth and final unit of study next week! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!
In math this week we will finish topic 13, counting money! We will explore different ways to show the same amount, learn more about the dollar bill and make an organized list to solve money word problems! We will then begin topic 14 which focuses more on money! We will practice adding money, subtracting money and estimating sums and differences!
We were so excited to receive our caterpillars last week and were thrilled when they turned into chrysalises on Friday! Now we are waiting for our beautiful butterflies to emerge!
Mystery Reader!
Thank you so much to Jake's grandfather Mr. Sardinha and to Ryan's mom Mrs. McDonald for being Mystery Readers in our classroom this week! We had so much fun! :)
