Thank you so much for your participation in the Elect to Read, school wide reading incentive program! This week marks the fourth and final week of our program! Keep up the great work!!!

During our share time of morning meeting this week, Kayla shared that she cut her hair to donate! Way to go Kayla! Your thoughtfulness, compassion and bravery inspire us all!
Literacy
In Literacy we will be starting our second unit of study, which focuses around the essential question, “How can we work together?” This week we will be reading the story, Tara and Tiree by Andrew Clements and discussing the weekly question, “What can we do in a dangerous situation?” We will also discuss the genre of Narrative Nonfiction, practice reading words with r-Controlled ar, or, ore, review the comprehension skill of sequencing and apply the comprehension strategy of predicting.
While our field trip was postponed on Friday, that didn't stop us from having a fun-filled day! Thank you to Ms. Hanley, Mrs. Kirby and Mrs. Pacillo for helping us with science centers! (I will let you know as soon as a new field trip date has been confirmed! Be on the lookout soon!) :)
