Open House
It was so nice to see and meet everyone last Thursday night at Open House! The children have been working so hard, and they were so excited to show you just what they have been up to! Thank you so much for visiting our classroom! I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Miss Verbic and I couldn't help but get in on the photo booth fun! :)
Literacy
This week we will be reading the text, A Walk in the Desert by Caroline Arnold and will be discussing the questions, “What can we learn from exploring new places and things?” and “What can we learn by exploring the desert?” We will also discuss the genre of Expository Nonfiction, practice reading words with inflected endings, identify the main idea and details within a text and determine the structure of a story.
This week we practiced Daily 5 Word Work activities!
Ask your child which activity is their favorite so far!
Fun with Floam!
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'!

Math
This week in math children will practice adding three addends and adding with 10. We will take our topic 2 test by the end of the week and will begin our third topic next week which focuses on subtraction strategies!
This week we used the educational website Mystery Doug to learn the answers to common questions children have about the world around them! Ask your child the following questions to see what they have learned! How do they turn wood into paper? Why do zebras have stripes? Why do we call them doughnuts? What makes hurricanes so dangerous?
