Reading about giant pumpkins in reading groups!
Room 118 is Celebrating!
I am so thrilled to share that Room 118 is once again celebrating for filling our bead jar for the second time this year! After a very close vote, students decided to have lunch in our classroom! We will be eating lunch in Room 118 this Thursday! Students can bring or buy their lunch as usual although due to allergies in our classroom it is asked that peanut free lunches are brought or purchased on Thursday! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! I couldn't be more proud of the wonderful choices that the students continue to make in our classroom everyday! Keep up the fabulous job! :)
Learning more about realism and fantasy through a fun game!
Thank you so much to Mrs. Elewononi for presenting our very first Docent lesson of the year on Monday! We loved learning about different types of sculptures and had so much fun creating art pieces of our own! It was wonderful to apply all that we learned when we went on our field trip on Friday!
Math
This week in math we will begin Topic 4 in our curriculum, which focuses on working with equal groups!
Literacy
In Literacy we will be starting our second unit of study, which focuses around the essential question, “How can we work together?” This week we will be reading the story, Tara and Tiree by Andrew Clements and discussing the weekly question, “What can we do in a dangerous situation?” We will also discuss the genre of Narrative Nonfiction, practice reading words with r-Controlled ar, or, ore, review the comprehension skill of sequencing and apply the comprehension strategy of predicting.
Our Field Trip!
What a wonderful time our class had on Friday at Decordova Sculpture Park! The children learned so much and saw so many interesting art pieces! Ask your child to tell you all about their favorite sculpture from Friday's trip!
