Our Field Trip! 🚌
Our field trip to Decordova Sculpture Park is this Friday! I'm crossing my fingers that we will have a beautiful fall day! On Monday your child will come home with a letter that provides a bit more information about the trip! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Media 📚
A friendly reminder that our media day is Friday! Second graders are allowed to take out two library books as long as they are returned each week by Friday morning! Happy Reading! :)
Literacy 📘
This week we will be reading the story, The Strongest One. This is the last story in our first unit of study! We will finish discussing the unit question, “What can we learn from exploring new places and things?” We will also review the phonics skill of consonant digraphs! Since we will be on our field trip on Friday we will take our spelling test on Thursday this week! If your child would like to practice their weekly spelling words using Spelling City, click here!

Our first day of Daily 5 rotations was a huge success! Spending so much time building stamina definitely paid off! 😃
Math
This week we will continue to review subtraction strategies as presented in our third topic of study! Children will practice how to think addition to 10 and 18 to subtract, how to make a 10 to subtract and how to answer two-question problems! We will also continue to learn about the 6's fact family! The flashcards and game that was sent home last week are great tools to practice!
