2nd Grade Field Trip 🚌

On Friday, October 18th the 2nd grade classes will be heading to Decordova Sculpture Park on our very first field trip of the year! If your child has not yet returned their permission slip, please have them do so ASAP so that they will be able to go on the trip with us! I will be putting the names of all those who volunteered to chaperone in a hat and picking who will be joining us on our trip this week! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions! Math ✏

This week we will begin our third unit in math, which focuses on subtraction strategies! We will also continue the math fact component of our math curriculum! Students have been completing various activities and playing games to practice their math facts in families! This week we will be focusing on the 6's family!

Fundations

This week we will begin our third unit in our Fundations program! This unit will focus on closed syllable exceptions! Be on the lookout for an informational sheet coming home with your child on Monday about this new unit!

This week Miss Moylan read the book, My Mouth is a Volcano for read aloud! We then brainstormed strategies for how we can demonstrate self-control when we have exciting things to share! Ask your child what strategy they came up with! 🌋

Science experiment fun!

Thank you so much to Mrs. Delaney and Mrs. Travis for presenting our first Docent lesson of the school year! We loved learning about sculptures and creating one of our very own!
