Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend and enjoys a safe and happy Halloween! 🎃
Science
In our science lesson this week students considered what would happen if their body didn't have bones. In the activity, Skeleton Hand, students combined science with art: they traced their hands, then added see-through bones to their picture, making their own skeleton hand!
Reader's Workshop
This week Reader's Workshop and science came together! The students grew their knowledge about animal groups through reading nonfiction texts!
Through Class Dojo videos, we started to learn about growth mindset this week! To learn more, ask your child about what growth mindset is and how our brains work! 🧠
Practicing the phonics rules that we have been learning in FUNdations with a fun game! 🎲
We had our very first star student of the school year this week! We had SO much fun celebrating Owen and learning more about him! On Friday we started to create a book for Owen in which we shared the many wonderful reasons why he is a star! I look forward to celebrating each child in Room 118 this year through our Star Student routine! 🌟
Our favorite signs of fall! 🍂
After reading the book, Spookley the Square Pumpkin, we worked hard to retell the story and create Spookleys of our very own!
Math pumpkin themed centers were a blast on Friday!
🌟Star Student🌟
Congratulations to our Star Student this week, Owen! We loved learning more about Owen from his All About Me poster and from the pictures that he brought from home! Keep up the awesome work Owen! You are such an important and valued member of our Room 118 family! ❤
