October 23, 2022

It was another busy, fun and productive week in Room 114! We had a blast learning about pumpkins and going on a leaf hunt in science, we loved using dominoes in math to practice adding numbers and we were so excited to start publishing one of our small moment stories in Writer's Workshop! I look forward to another wonderful week of learning and fun ahead! πŸ™‚

The children have been working SO hard in FUNdations to apply the phonics rules we have been learning to their spelling! Last week we took our FUNdations lessons to the next level and the children practiced writing and scooping full sentences! Way to go writers! ✏

Last week our read alouds continued to focus on kindness and being a good friend!

In Reader's Workshop last week we worked in partnerships and groups to work on building great reading habits! πŸ“š

Last week in science we dissected a pumpkin and learned all about its parts and life cycle!

During our Guidance lesson with Mrs. Tilton on Wednesday, we talked all about feelings!

The Mathematicians of Room 114 had so much fun playing domino games last week to practice their addition skills! 🁘

The weather was perfect last week for a leaf hunt and for leaf related science activities! πŸ‚
