Room 114 rocked our first full week of January! We continued to add and subtract using a number line in math, took our Nonfiction pieces to the next level by including comparisons, started our science unit on the moon and the stars and ended our week with a fun experiment lead by Lainey's dad, Mr. Beaudreau! I can't wait to see what next week has in store for us! I know that it will be full of learning and fun! π
We continued to talk about Growth Mindset through our daily read alouds! The children have been doing an amazing job of applying all that we are learning! π§
We continue to use number lines in math to add and subtract multiples of 5 and 10!
Happy Birthday to our Room 114 friends who celebrated their birthday in January! We loved celebrating your special day with you Charlie, Karam and Jonathan! π
In science this week we started our unit on the moon and stars! Our first activity helped us to answer the question, "When can you see the full moon?" Ask your child to see their mini moon book to see all that they learned! π
In math this week we participated in a new activity called, "Esti-Mysteries"! We had so much fun using clues to estimate how many objects were in a container! Ask your child about this activity to see what they thought of it!
In FUNdations we have started our unit on blends so of course we had to make blenders to practice this skill!
On Friday, Lainey's dad Mr. Beaudreau volunteered to come into our classroom to help us participate in an awesome science experiment! We had such a blast learning about solids, liquids and gases! Thank you Mr. Beaudreau! Do you have a hobby, special skill or fun activity you would like to share with our class? We would love to have you visit Room 114! Nothing come to mind? No worries! I will be inviting Room 114 friends and family members to come in in the spring to be Mystery Readers! If you are interested in coming in to do an activity or if you have flexibility in your schedule to volunteer in our classroom please reach out! We'd love to have you!
We continue to rock ST Math! Our progress continued to grow this week! Keep up the awesome work mathematicians! JiJi and I are so proud of you! π§
