On Monday we rocked our socks to support Down Syndrome Awareness Day! 👍
During our SEL lesson with Mrs. Tilton on Wednesday we listened to the book, "Don't Squeal Unless It's a Big Deal!" We talked about "kid sized problems" and how to focus on ourselves unless something is an emergency!

FUNdations
This week in FUNdations we will continue to practice the concepts presented in unit 10 of our program! We will be read words with up to 5 sounds! We will also practice how to read words with the suffixes -s, -ed, -ing. Stump, clasp, strap, slashing and blended are just a few examples of the types of words that we will be learning how to read and spell! We will also practice reading and spelling the trick words: any, many, how, now, down, out, about and our.
Reader's Workshop 📚
In Reader's Workshop this week we will continue to learn about effective reading strategies. We will talk about how readers use new tools to read hard words. We will discuss how readers think about the story to problem-solve words, think about what kind of word would fit and slow down to break up long words.
Writer's Workshop 🖊
We will continue to write reviews this week in Writer's Workshop! This week we will learn how to make comparisons in our writing. We will also learn about ways to hook our readers with catchy introductions and conclusions.
Math 🖩
In math we solve addition and subtraction story problems!
